How does Roman occupation effect Ireland's future?

It turns out that the Romans did attempt to invade a part of it at some point to install some prince in return for swearing fealty. Say Rome, after gaining a foothold in that invasion, ends up conquering all of Ireland ("Hibernia"). So how does that affect its future. Would it maybe have a more pleasant relationship with Britain since they developed the same, relatively?

I don't think any occupation would have lasted : Ireland was simply too far, too underdeveloped and giving little interests.
There's several occurences of regions Romans conquered and that they left eventually for less reasons than that.

At best, I would see more roman influenced Irish Sea statelets.

Yes, but there would have been a different kind of impact. If the Irish are more Roman-influenced then there probably would be fewer raids by Irish pirates - which were one of the reasons why Vortigern invited Saxon mercenaries over.

I don't think so : IRRC, the Gaelic raids were caused by groups that already overrun coastal tribes and kingdoms.

Furthermore, Germans were pretty much roman-influenced since the IIIth century, and it never really prevented them to make raids of their own. (If something more knowledge about roman infrastructure, tactics and mindset could have favoured them)
