Bay of Pigs was planned during the latter days of the Eisenhower administration, with the continuity in government the operation probably doesn't fall through the cracks and may actually work. Quite probable actually, if Nixon goes all in on it. If that works it would butterfly away a lot after that. Of course, even without that Khrushchev probably doesn't try something like the Cuban Missile Crisis with Nixon.
