How Could Sub-Saharan Africa Become A Confederation (within decades)?

How do you think it could (theoretically) be possible for Sub-Saharan Africa to become a Confederation (i.e. the hypothetical so-called super-state "The African Confederation" or "The African Confederacy")?

Let's give a timespan (of it coming into being, that is) of 2-3+ decades (i.e. a fully integrated Confederation by 2033 - 2053).

I suppose, it would begin with regional unions first, no? E.g. East African Federation, possible West African Union, Southern African Union etc, which would all then join up in uniformity as a united confederacy, no?

What do you think? Give your thoughts, please.

P.S.

Don't be so unduly pessimistic or negative to the point of inhibition and intellectual stagnation:

Don't be so unduly pessimistic or ridiculously negative - like, "Oh, it's impossible", or "Oh, the distances between areas are so great", or "Oh, there are too many different languages and cultures and ethnic groups" - if we constantly employed that mindset, we'd still be banging rocks and looking up at the sun as if it was some sort of all-powerful god.

No, rather, let's think of the creation of this Confederation with the presumption that there's a will - I mean, that somehow, there arises in the next few months to years some sort of strong will on the part of all African people to create a united super-state over the span of decades. As the will is there, the logistics and planning and funding and whatnot would follow, however hard, arduous and challenging the processes would be, no?

Some things that would no doubt help:

1) Keep Nigeria stable, peaceful and developing.

2) Have South Africa not go the Afrikaner extremist route - keep society mostly equal, encourage immigration from Europe and Asia.

3) Keep Ethiopia stable, developing, and under the rule of the Monarchy. There was a TL here that showcased a great way to do this.

4) Have the East African Community/Federation happen MUCH earlier. Have it by the point it is today by the 1980s or so.

Doing so will keep West, Southern, East and the Horn of Africa much more stable than OTL, developing, and maybe begin absorbing some of their smaller neighbors or federating or forming regional blocks.
