How could have the First Mexican Empire and Gran Colombia survive?

How could the First Mexican empire be able to survive intact? Could the elimination of Santa Anna and Guadeloupe Victoria able to give Iturbide breathing room? Also for Gran Colombia could Bolivar die earlier and have Santander taking his place? Or the Venezuelans have an uprising that gets crushed by federalist? Any ideas would be welcomed:D.

IIRC Santander opposed Gran Colombia as a concept; he was more cautious and might be described as a Nueva Granada (OTL Colombia) patriot. That and friction over Bolivar's convoluted, pseudo monarchical constitution explains why Santander was exiled to Europe. Sucre, one of Bolivar's favorite lieutenants was perhaps the best opportunity for a surviving Gran Colombia. Even then, given communication difficulties and economic/cultural differences, I think the country could only survive as a binational confederation (shared currency, military and foreign policy).

Well, I think that the Mexican Congress offered the Imperial Crown to Ferdinand VII of Spain, but he denied it... What if the King of Spain accepted the Mexican Crown and now got the titles of King of Spain and Emperor of Mexico... or what if (With a Napoleonic Victory) the Mexican Congress offered the Title to Napoleon... and he accepted... (French-Mexican Empire)

As of Gran Colombia, Perhaps giving it more British support and adventures in the Caribbean instead of Peru, of course, having someone like Sucre would be better to held the positiion of president/consul whatever they decide than Bolivar if we're talking about keeping the Gran Colombia united
