How could Biafra win the Nigerian civil war

How can Biafra win the Nigerian civil war

What would be needed for Biafra to win

Anyway Biafra could the beat the Nigerian Navy

Would any pre-Nigerian civil war pods be needed
If you go back too far as a POD you could butterfly away the conflict entirely.

Biafra stands no chance of winning the war. It needs foreign intervention. The problem is that would change borders and nobody wants to alter borders anymore considering that was how we got WW2.

Lastly the situation is by no means unique. It's the usual oil drama you see across the world. Biafra could not survive without oil and without the oil its independence would be a non-factor. It tried to secede because it didn't feel the oil wealth was being distributed fairly. You see this situation across the world. Oil reserves exacerbate regionalism and tribalism.

For starters, instead of starting a punk rock band, he'd have needed to move to Nigeria and start building support for green-style politics there and...oh, wait....

A TL I've thought about but never fleshed out, even mentally, is Francoist Spain getting a little more confrontational with the UK over Gibraltar. To stick a thumb in the eye of the former colonial power (not to mention get access to the petroleum resources), Spain backs Biafra from Spanish Guinea with weapons, air cover, naval support, and maybe a few boots on the ground. I don't know whether that would be enough for Biafra to win, though.
