House of Tudor or House of Stuart?

Random question, which dynasty do people here think would be better suited for the coming enlightenment?

House of Tudor, or House of Stuart?

Thanks

Tudors under Elizabeth and Stuarts under Mary, William and Anne.

Catholic monarchs seem to castrate new ideas

Intriguing, who could Elizabeth realistically marry to produce issue, and would the house remain as House of Tudor after the marriage or change?

Any protestant suitor would work for Elizabeth and in normal terms the husband name is used however its not always so, look at Elizabeth II's children keeping Windsor rather than Mountbatten

True true. Hmm a marriage to Dudley is out that's for sure.

Only the eldest. They are going Windsor-Mountbatten for other descendants of the union. Anyways, not just any Protestant suitor would work. The Calvinists, Lutherans, etc each had strengths in different areas of Europe, while the Church of England see-sawed during the reign of Henry, before moving sharply Protestant under Edward, sharply Catholic (while still keeping talk of a Church of England around) under Mary, and then got relatively balanced under Elizabeth, where the altars could be grand, the Bibles in English, and the Virgin Queen's imagery and reputation... well, would be too far to say supplemented the Virgin Mary, but she certainly knew how to keep her country enthralled.

Anyways, apparently she proposed marriage to a Frenchman one later in her once reign but called it off when the Privy Councillor were veeeery silent when she told them about it. Getting someone from England might be needed for the patriotism angle, but if it was earlier in her reign should would be a bit less secure and everyone would fight for the chance to be king. Considering the amount of stillborn of Henry's wives(mostly Catherine), and the amount of time pregnancy would take someone out of commission, it would cause ominous murmurs if she didn't have a child. And if she did, people might put too much attention on that, while her husband tries to make himself king in full. It would have to be a duke or earl as well, since anything less would be seen as demeaning to her rank.

So likely it would have to be someone local then?

With good connections, a large personal army, etc. Depends if Elizabeth is arranging the marriage or another.

Hmm if it is Elizabeth, I'd imagine she'd want someone with a large personal army to defend their right and their children's rights to the throne.

A slight tangent, would it physically be possible for Henry and Jane Seymour to have twins at the time that Edward Vi was born, or would one need Jane to survive long enough to have another son?
