Hounds of Ares: A Thracian Empire Timeline

I see the Alexandrian Empire Reaches the Caspian Sea. I think your Thracian Empire would have moved Up the Don and Down the Volga to reach the Caspian also.
[even if they control less of the Caucuses, below the upside V]
This will allow the Thracian's to trade with Bactria, which reaches out to Cathay, giving Thrace a share of the Silk Road.

Hmm...interesting point. Could you demonstrate this on a map perhaps? I'd like to include that in the timeline.
Thanks in advance :)

Not to worry lads!

The finishing touches to the next update are nearly complete. I've been out of commission for quite a while because of the process of running a funeral for my late brother. Now that that's completed, my life can finally begin to return to a type of normalcy.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Condolences on your brother's passing.
And also excited to hear what you may do with the Thracians. Only experience of Thrace was , well, Rome Total War and that isn't exactly accurate

Your condolensces are appreciated. And yes, RTW did have some difficulty with accuracy now didn't it? ;)

Now, without further ado, an update to the timeline!

December 18, 321: After many desperate discussions between the Diadochi, Ptolemaios I enforces Alexander’s final wish to be entombed in Alexandria by force. The body is mummified and prepared in the Egyptian tradition, much to the chagrin of the other Diadochi.
February 8, 320: A secret meeting is held in Babylon between Macedonian, Heraclitian, and Carthaginian leaders. The emissaries discuss the rising power of the Ptolemeys and their allies in Thrace and India. They decide upon a rapid concerted attack upon Egypt , and to engage Thrace after the neutralization of Egypt.
September 12, 320: After seven years of preparation, the assault on Egypt begins. Carthaginian forces invade Ptolemaic lands from Kyrenia, while Heraclitian and Macedonian forces invade from Asia Minor. The invasion finds itself slowed tremendously by both the Ptolemaic army and the harsh desert terrain.
October 4, 320: Thracian emissaries learn of the attack on Ptolemaios, and respond with an invasion of Macedonia. Macedon reacts by deploying against them in kind. In Egypt, the large but poorly-trained levy force of Heraclitia is routed by the Egyptians at the Battle of the Tigris River. The shocked Herclitian faction sues for piece, dismayed at the difficulty of the affair.
October 5, 320-December 18, 320: Macedon finds that it had greatly underestimated Thrace’s capacity for war, and is forced to withdraw its forces from Ptolemaic territory. Alexandria is thus able to deploy the whole of its forces against Carthage. In the north, Macedon is largely unable to defeat the armies of Thrace. The Thracian troops’ expert use of peltasts and shock infantry alongside the more conventional pike phalanx.
December 19, 320-April 13, 315: The war between Macedonia and Thrace continues, and Egypt soon invades Macedon’s territories in Syria and Asia Minor. The five-year struggle ends in the climactic Battle of Thessalonia, where Thraco-Egyptian forces administer a crushing defeat upon Macedonia. Macedon is crippled by the act, and is forced to cede its territories in Asia Minor to the Ptolemaioi. Epirus, an ally of Macedon, is subsequently invaded by Thrace and is conquered.
April 14, 315: The various Greek poleis, discontent with the failed rule of Macedonia, rebel and forge an independent confederation, dubbed the League of Attica.

May 12, 350: Byzantine forces surrender to the Thracian invaders after a five-month siege, having exhausted food reserves and being hit by a plague.

How can a city which has open access to the sea exhaust it's food reserves? You don't mention the Thracians having a fleet.

Indeed I do. I mention a Thracian fleet supplying the Macedonians by sea during Alexander's invasion of Asia Minor. This same fleet is the one that blockades Byzantium, I apologize if I was unclear. Thanks, however, for keeping me on my toes. ;)

Updates on the horizon folks! Bearing scriptures written by bloody Thracian hands in the fear juices of pansies!

;)

Seriously, an update doth approach rapidly.
