Hood killed early 1862

to those of you you perhaps didnt know, but in early 1862 during the pennisular campaign, john bell hood was almost killed by a union corporal at eltham's landing. fortunatly for hood, one of his men disobeyed orders that stated that the men should not load their muskets untill after they had left their camp. this individual shot the federal corporal before he had the chance to fire on hood. Now, for a Pod, what if that certain person had obeyed orders? How different would have the civil war would have been without John Bell Hood had he been killed? thoughts? comments?

This would actually hurt the South, as Hood was a very good brigade and division commander and a decent corps commander. Ideally you could have him killed at Chickamauga instead of just losing a leg; then he is unavailable to replace Joe Johnston, although that begs the question of just who would replace him.
