Holy Roman Empire and Hapsburg still in power in 1967

Hi in this Alt History setting Hapsburg and the Holy Roman Empire are still in power in 1967, so are the other great royal houses as well.

The Hapsburgs imperial Family of this setting are devided into the Austrian and Spanish Branches, The head of the family is still the Holy Roman Emperor/press,

in 1520 Marthin Luther was killed by the Catholic Church, this drove Calvinism underground.

Would there be Baroque in this world?, in out world it came out of the counter to the Reformation.

There was no revolt of 1848, no Napoleonic War in which Bayen became a Kingdom did they in this setting?.

The Spanish Habsburgs still rule over the Kingdom of Spain and Portugal and there colonial empire, there is no nation of America due to the fact that North and South America are devided between Spain, France, Imperial Russia, and Britain.

Imperial Russia of the Romanovs has all of Russia, Kingdom of Poland, and the Swedish kingdoms as well.

Lands of Holy Roman Empire: overall control of Central Europe, the Balkans, lands of the Spanish Empire.

This is a world were the Common Man hasn't much say in there lives, there are the Three Social Classes in this world.

1967 in our world was the year of social revolt and change,

in Venna would the Ring Road be built, it was mostly liberal buildings and outlits for the Common Man.

What would be the Tech level of this setting

A world without the US, without liberty equality, fraternity, without the rights of man, and without democracy would a dull, rotten and dysfunctional world full of miresable lives.

You can argue that all of that was more or less inevitable once you have the Provisions of Oxford.

So what is the PoD - Luther`s martyrdom?
I doubt that it would lead to the all the divergences and especially to the statis nature of this timeline.
Multiple PoDs are problematic - once you start down that road, you can`t ask us any questions, for you could just create additional PoDs.

I’m confused. Why exactly did you choose 1967 as the end point?
Plus, it gets kind of boring to speculate on a scenario that’s already built from the ground up.
The butterflies generated from a dead Luther would be large — perhaps the russian Time of Troubles would be averted, preserving the Rurikid dynasty.
One more question: 1848 and 1968 were only “revolutionary years” because the situation and historical precedents permitted such.

This is pointless. You just set an ATL scenario and started an attempt to dictate what would, supposedly, happen or not, without any consideration to the consequences from the very first POD until the last.

So many butterflies butchered...

well in this world North America is devived between France, Spain, British, and Russia.

Both Austria and Russia have Secret Police that supress those anti Monarchy feelings, So the Holy Roman Empire does have an underground that is fighting for the common person rights, the 1960's were a time of rebbelion in the West.

Calvinism are hardline Terrorists like the IRA in our world, like in Red Mundi comic series.

Yeah, a miserable world

I'd argue that equality, fraternity and the rights of man are just shams in our current period used to pacify the masses.

What if the US itself is a dystopian hellhole anyway
As long as it remains the land of liberty, it would not.

Having some of them is better than having none. Under these despotic monarchies, most of the non-aristocrats never have freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and freedom to study and research. Basically kiss goodbye to democracy.

John Calvin and Martin Luther developed their ideologies based upon different points of theology. Calvin was predestination, while Luther was more the priesthood of the believer. So, Luther getting offed does not necessarily stop Calvin.

most press associations toe the line of the corporations that own them, the one exception. In the U.K. Being the BBC. Freedom to study and research, required copious amounts of funding fofor PhD and academic studies and has to sit inside a specific framework to meet the agenda of funding institutes, freedom of speech is currently under massive attack and increasingly there is self censorship so yes not seeing any difference
