I think the USN has suffered most of its losses at sea via accidents in the last 28 years.
The LPH10 Tripoli hit a unswept mine back in 1991. The Tripoli has been in the reserve fleet since 2015 & designated for disposal August 2016. I don't know if it is still commissioned or in the naval registry, but it probably a lot less combat effective now than the Constitution.
DDG67 Cole was attacked by a suicide boat. Call it a torpedo attack? Its still afloat and operational, deployed back to the Gulf in February 2017
The Iowa class are all decommissioned & struck from the naval registry, & so I think are the ancient Desmoines class cruisers that were in mothballs forever.
Maybe there is some other ship that got dented in the Gulf wars? I don't recall which ship it was that fired on the oil drilling platform back in the 1980s.
