IOTL, in early December 54 Grumman Martlets were shipped from New York to Bombay arriving in March 1942

ITTL, 18 of the Martlets are shipped to San Diego and loaded onto HMS Hermes. Based on my illustration below, there should be space for these Martlets and the original 12 Swordfish on deck and below.
Of course you can't operate with such a crowded hangar, and nor does Hermes have sufficient avgas or the necessary crash barrier or useful catapult for such a large CAG, so we'll move some off when possible.
So, at the time of the PH raid Hermes is just off the US west coast loaded with 30 aircraft. What does Hermes do now?
Going to Singapore isn't wise, Force Z will be gone before Hermes can arrive. San Diego to Singapore is 7741 nautical miles, at 15 knots it's a journey of 21.5 days.
http://www.sea-distances.org/ Hermes range at 10 knots is 5,600
nmi, so it will be necessary to refuel at PH or ANZ.
Even Australia is a pinch, as it's 6530 nautical miles from San Diego to Sydney. My suggestion is Hermes sails for Australia (refueling in Fiji or somewhere along the way), off loads some of her CAG for spares and then waits to join ABDACOM.
