Hms Centurion as an aircraft carrier

My thoughts are not a full fledged carrier but a conversion akin to USS Wolverine. So no hangar and just a landing deck for pilot training .

I suspect she may be too slow. If at all feasible it might free up one of the older carriers from training.

This is making things more difficult than easy, as there were alternative, much less costly options to do something simmilar on an addapted ferry. Rebuilding a Dreadnought type hull is a costly thing, copmpared to a cheap merchant hull.

We're the ferries long enough . Uss Wolverine was 500ft long as originally built and even then had a considerable overhang to her flight deck .

Also I believe HMS Centurion was fairly stripped down for her role as a target ship.

HMS Centurion was 597 ft long, so not much difference here. Ferries were variable in length so just search one that will fit the requirements.

Good luck finding a British registered ferry much more than 350ft long in 1940. Big ferries only came into service when cars became a common cargo,
