Hitler's legacy if he died before ww2.

If its right after munich or memel Hitler within Germany would be seen as the second bismark

accomplishments

1. successfully renounced versailles
2. rearmed germany to be a first rate military power
3. prevented communist take over
4. united with austria
5. reclaimed sudentland; memel etc
6. steered germany through the worst of the depression and gave her a lot of first class infrastructure

the long knives and the repression of the jews (such as it was in 1938 or 1939) would be labeled as common within reactionary europe of the period

in 1939 hess has been effectively marginalized within the party... its much more likely Goering becomes fuhrer here than 1933 or 1936; if Goering doesn't want to be fuhrer (based on not wanting the busy schedule/work load)...then he needs a weakish figure head type fuhrer... the people of appropriate party rank at that moment are fairly small who Goering hasn't pissed off or whom he could reliable control (he could not keep a Himmler or Goebbles in line, and in 1939 he and Hess where not speaking... maybe he kisses and makes up with Ribbentrop and lets him be the titular head of the party whilst he continues to get high and rape his many offices)

in terms of the economy, Goering sucked and couldn't put in the effort, Ribbentrop at least had basic math skills from his business background; with the fresh absorbtion of sudentland and austria Germany does have some breathing space if Ribbentrop and Goering were willing to spool down rearmament to more reasonable levels and not go through with the 4th and 5th wave of conscription call ups which where very damaging to the economy

Assuming a just after Munich death . . . Without gobbling up the Czech part of Czechoslovakia and creating a puppet Slovakia . . . Might Germany be able to get Danzig and that corridor without seeing the French and British declare war?

And I guess if Poland continues to be obstinate and tries to fight, Germany can reclaim the 1914 borders.

The Poles were adament about not surrendering Danzig or yielding extraterritorial rights through the Corridor. If Hitler's successor makes no effort to go beyond the Munich Pact then it's possible Chamberlain might view the issue in the light of redressing the Versailles Treaty and allowing Germans returning to the Reich.

Remember that up until the violation of the Munich Agreement Chamberlain believed his policy of appeasement was working. Chamberlain might support Danzig's return though I doubt he would agree to the Corridor as it would deny Poland access to the sea.

It is by no means certain though and given Polish actions since the country was reborn even if Britain and Germany brought political pressure to bear they might well refuse to budge even then.

If Poland refused to yield Danzig through negotiation I can't see Britain and France standing by if Germany tried to use force.

Here's what I have for the world in 1945 after Hitler dies around June 1939. I eventually decided on some sort of Soviet-Japanese agreement for China as what happens in Asia, seeing as both are worried about a two front war against the Allies.

Hitler's Legacy if he died before WW2

I agree with BlairWitch, Hitler is viewing himself in essence as a second Bismark in Herman Rauschning's "Hitler Speaks" and Rauschning seems to agree with it in his comment.

I don't see the Poles bending their backs to accomodate Chamberlain seeing what happened to Chechoslovakia after her ceeding Sudetenland to Germany in terms of the Munich agreement.
