Hitlers Ally -- Vichy France

During Operation Torch, The French were convinced to Change sides. and not resist the invasion.
Following this Hitler ordered the occupation of Vichy France, and the French became a Allied Power.
Before the Fall of Vichy Great Britain & the US had a plan to install a military occupation Government in France.

But WI ?the French had Fought the Allies and Vichy Remained - Allied to Germany?

?So What would Post War France look like and what would this do the the Common Market/EU ?

O just wrote a short TL on something along these lines during Operation Torch, involving Mark Clark being captured during his foolish clandestine meeting with the Vichy before the landings.

If the Vichy had fought stubbornly and the Germans and Italians had quickly provided support, I think it very likely that the attacks would fail completely. IOTL, they were woefully disorganized, and the operation as a whole was probably too complex to be carried out by inexperienced troops and offiers. (I just finished reading "Army at Dawn" and was amazed that the Allies were able to pull the thing off)

One crucial fact: the Vichy fleet at Toulon. If it sailed to attack the landings and was protected by German air cover, the Allies are deeply screwed.

If the Torch landings had failed and Vichy came into the war fully as a German ally, you have the potential for massive change. In the fall of 1942, I think the Germans still had a chance to win the war. Unconditional Surrender had not yet become official policy and the Germans were still on even terms on the Eastern Front (though that changed soon IOTL). ITTL, where would the resources that went into Tunisia go? To the Eastern Front? To Rommel? What would Spain do?

Many possibilities.
