Hitler not installed as Chancellor by Von Hindenburg, 1932

What if Hitler was not appointed Chancellor by Von Hindenburg in 1932, or later?

Theoretically Reichs Präsident Von Hindenburg could have appointed someone else of another political party, or even outside of the Reichstag, as Chancellor of the new government, ommiting the NSDAP completely, dispite their upmarch. With Hitler and his fellow NSDAP members not member of the government, what would have been te result?

Points of interest: The NSDAP still had to become the biggest party in the 1932 elections, or afterwards. Their greatest election victory was after they had come to power and elliminated the Communists, by altering an electionlaw. Without this, the NSDAP would propably have become the largest faction, but not as large as after the 1933 election.
The more traditional parties were still outnumbering the NSDAP in seat in the Reichstag, so could have concluded a sort of "Cordon Sanitaire" like in current Belgium around the Flemmish Nationalists. Although both Communists and Fascists were large, they did not have the combined size of >50% of the Reichstag.

If Von Hindenburg had been a more democratic politician, which he obvious was not, how would Germany have looked like in the 30's?
Would their have been a WW2, in the following period, or would it have been avoided?

He didn't really have a choice his party had so much support he had to give Hitler some representation to avoid him using his power to destroy Germany.

Plus the disaster with Von Papen and Schliecher, Hindenburg was manipulated into it by Papen rather than 'chose' to put Hitler in charge, Hindeburg was always determined not to put the 'Jumped up Corporal from Bavaria' in charge of the country.
