Hitler executed for treason after Beer Hall Putsch

What if Hitler was sentenced to death and shot for treason after his failed attempt in Munich? What would happen to the NSDAP without him? Who would take over in Germany instead of the Nazis when the Weimer Republic falls? Does it even fall?

I wrote a TL just about this. But in reality the Putsch wasn't seen as a terribly bad thing. In fact the punishment given to Hitler and Hess were seen as preferential treatment. Most of the conspirators were let loose within weeks. You need Hitler to die during the Putsch, because any time after that is to late. If you wanna check out my Time Line its in my sig. :)

Very unlikely yes but possible. It was treason and if he wound up pissing off the judge somehow he could have been executed.

Thing is, he specifically kept himself from angering the judges. He made no mention of anti-semitism during the trial. His speaking abilities were not exaggerated, he was an avid believer in his point and he was great at arguing his point. He will not be taken out and shot unless you could possibly have Kahr and his Trio in charge of the Bavarian government somehow survive the Putsch unscathed. In OTL they were completely discredited by their failure to participate in the Putsch and the fact that they allowed it to happen. Otherwise no government is going to have him shot. Hitler, when he wanted to be, was extremely likable and charming. And his coup d'etat was a sloppy attempt compared to say the Kapp Putsch. And the Kapp Putsch had no people shot for treason either. Its really just not possible to have him killed as a result of a trial, because once he opens his mouth, he gains the sympathy of the judge.

It is my understanding that the Weimer Republic had the death penalty only for murder cases (If I’m wrong, someone will no doubt be quick to correct me) and in any case the method of execution in the republic was by guillotine; so no firing squad.
