Must've meant 45.July 1944? Hitler has a time machine?
Maybe - but I think anything's possible in this TL.Must've meant 45.
Yeah now that you mention it, it would.Maybe - but I think anything's possible in this TL.
The Japanese got the plans to the Me-163 IOTL before May 1945 and built a few before the end of the war. Here they also got a little help from Lippish, maybe its not enough to make that big a difference but then again maybe it was.Even if Hitler arrives in Japan in May, 1945 with full plans for the Me-162, there is no way the Japanese can make those sorts of numbers by July, 1945. If they do thanks to Skippy the ASB it would be a one time thing. Also by July, 1945 most of the raids were nighttime and Komet intercepts were daylight only.
It would probably be cancelled out by someone in poor health being in a cramped submarine. A milch cow is going to be easily located and sunk, even if a Type XXI wouldn't be.
All the way to Japan is dubious. If he goes to Spain, Franco almost certainly just gives him up to the Allies (Mountains or not, it's not like the post-civil war Spanish Army could stop an invasion).
The type XXI had a maximum range of 15,500nm surfaced and on diesels. On batteries she had another 300nm each time before recharging, which was done while advancing on diesels. Switching between the two and going for maximum economical steaming, she can reach Japan (Just!), although refueling would be handy! Maybe another XXI hastely converted into a milch cow for the primary? Convert bow and stern TT rooms for instance? Or one of the crew quarters and take minimal crew?No U-boat could make it from Germany to Japan (around the Cape of Good Hope/Indian Ocean/South China Sea/Pacific) without refueling it is well over 15,000 nm. Using 15,000 nm and expecting an average SOA (speed of advance) of 10 kts (more on surface, less on snorkel/battery when submerged) you are looking at at least 65-70 days to get to Japan from Germany meaning Hitler arrives in Japan around July 1, 1945. At that point absolutely nothing that could come from Germany to Japan on one or even several U-boats can make the slightest bit of difference.
A scenario where Hitler tries to escape to arrive incognito in Argentina, Paraguay etc makes some sort of sense. Going to Japan, which is going to be defeated sooner rather than later makes no sense. Furthermore German/Japanese cooperation during WWII was minimal at best.
Would they really invade a country at peace just to get a single man?

What if he escaped to Argentina, would they invade it too just for one man?
I find it hard to believe.
Word is passed to the Americans some how 1x nuc is dropped on Tokyo.
