History of the Confederacy From 1864 On

So is Emperor Napoleon III still alive at this time?

And to reiterate how are the butterflies treating Emperor Maximilian I and President Juarez?

Political turmoil within Spain, unrelated to the Cuban War, becomes the focus of the Spanish government. Not wanting to continue a costly foreign war whose outcome is uncertain, the Spanish offer to sell Cuba to the Confederates for $40 million.

Exactly what political turmoil is happening at Spain at this moment? in OTL from 1876 (end of the Third Carlist War) and the proclamation of the Constitution of 1876 Spain was relatively very stable internally at least until some years after the death of Alfonso XII (in OTL in 1885).

Naturally this is in OTL, in TTL from the POD of 1864 it has been more of 10 years of butterflies that could have affected the internal situation of Spain compared with OTL.

It is Because this my curiosity, what situation and regime has Spain at this moment?.

In any case I considers plaussible that Spain want to sell Cuba to the Confederacy to avoid a costly war, but I would like a lot to a more wide explanation about what situation has Spain at this moment.

Once again Anaxagoras has left most on this bored in awe. Brilliant TL mate. But what happened to it? It was getting better by the post!

I will try to continue this at some point. Apologies for taking so long, but it's a busy time in the "real world".
