First map of the United World (formerly the United Government of the Caribbean) V1

The science behind the map - moderately soft SciFi warning, this is not a projection in any way, shape, or form and cannot be counted on to predict the future. Standard Securities and Exchange Commission language about forward-looking statements applies in spades.

I'd lean towards the POD being late 2011, as you can see the independent South Sudan. For instance, Obama dies of lung cancer from smoking, Biden freezes under pressure and is defeated by Romney or Trump, who governs as a climate skeptic. This results in runaway global warming and in desperation the world's leaders launch a nuclear winter to try to stop it from leading to a lifeless Venus-like earth (ASB, I know, but rule of dark comedy). Disease (possibly including bioweapons released during the collapse of civilization) wipe out most of the remaining Old World civilizations, leaving tropical Latin America and the Caribbean (as well as maybe a few Pacific islands, although those get really screwed over by climate change - as does the Amazon in most models) as the only remaining area above a Threads-like wasteland by 2090. This map is from around 2200 and is very very loosely based on these prevalent models of climate change and nuclear war:

Combine these with a disease or migration wave taking out the rest of the Old World and you get Caribbean (and parts of mainland Latin American) dominance.

For argument's sake, the map represents year 275 AC (After Catastrophe). The general character of humanity is much more humble, bordering on technophobia and hardcore environmentalism, after narrowly missing climate catastrophe and nuclear annihilation and having to rebuild from the rubble up. Think 1/3 treehugger commune, 1/3 post-oil Cuba, 1/3 High Middle Ages:

Gostivar Treaties Ratified - Neo-Ottoman Empire is No More!

The Treaties of Gostivar are agreed among polities 8d (the Levantine Federal Caliphate Succeeding the Ottoman Empire), 8e (Arabia), 6f (Greco-Albania), 6n (Coptic Republic), 6o (Israel), 11d (Balkan Slavonic League). These treaties permanently settle all border disputes among these polities as follows and aim to permanently establish a roadmap for relations within the Eastern Meditteranean.

The Ottoman Empire will restructure itself as a federal, territorial caliphate (a blend of 20th-century Switzerland and the Caliphate Sokoto) in which individuals can affiliate with ethno-linguistic and religious communities (millets) as well as regional communities. The repressive "Neo-Ottoman Empire" will be disestablished and the name "Neo-Ottoman" introduced by Caliph Irfan will be suppressed. The Ottoman Caliph will have one vote in the Hall of Nine Caliphs (six for leading Sunni traditions, one for Iranian Shiites, one for the Aga Khan, and one for misc. Muslims). To reduce Sunni Arab/Shiite Arab/Druze/Turkish/Kurdish/Alawite/Coptic/Maronite/Jewish tensions, each of those communities will be granted a millet and new millets can be registered with 100 male and 100 female members.

Israel will relinquish all claims to land south of Hebron and all coastal land except for the ports of Haifa and Akko; the de facto international border running between the Dome of the Rock and the Wailing Wall will be confirmed, and border stations will be erected there. Jewish communities living outside Israel's borders are guaranteed the right to practice their religion. Coptic citizens will also be free to practice their religion, as will Muslims in Slavonic and Greco-Albanian regions.

Greco-Albania and the Balkan Slavonic League will enter into a mutual free immigration zone.

Control of Mecca will be shared between Arabia and the Ottomans.

The treaties were signed in the town square of the Slavonic/Greco-Albanian border town of Gostivar and were attended by the following:

A map of the Treaties of Gostivar's parties. A second round of negotiations will begin on whether to abolish tariffs and border checkpoints within these six countries. There is strong opposition from Arabia, led by the Bedouin Guild and the Hauling and Transport Federation of Arabia, because of fears that reduced tariffs and border security will result in increased highway robbery in the lawless Arabian desert and will reduce maintenance funding; two of the nine members of the Hall of Caliphs have also condemned Gostivar II because of fears over security as well as (alleged) religious prejudice. In addition, United Somali chief executive Ibrahim Yacin and the head of Djibouti's shipbuilder's association, Elias Rachid, have asked that they also be included in Gostivar II negotiations.

Religious demographics; this map generally reports the largest denomination, not necessarily the religious majority, although different polities use different statistical schemes. About 20% of people are atheists; they were asked the religion to which they personally felt the closest in terms of upbringing and culture.

A few notes:

1) Igbo Judaism exploded in popularity after a self-professed Jewish rabbi was one of the few survivors in his region in Nigeria (99.9% of non-Caribbeans perished).
2) Other Islam includes Ibadi, Nation of Islam/Moorish Science Temple, and Salafis.
3) Andeanism is an aggressively evangelistic form of South American shamanism with strong heathen and Polynesian influences. When television service was restored about 70 years after the nuclear exchange, Andeans were the first televangelists. (TV is still greatly frowned upon because of the association of technology with nuclear war and environmental degradation)
4) The light gray in Russia and Siberia is theistic communism, which is a splinter of Andean shamanism that literally worships socialism as a god. It has very heavy influences from Slavic paganism as well.

As a result of continued sectarian prejudice in several parts of the Middle East, the Caliphates of Islam introduced at 122 AC the system of Dhimmi Cards. Literally meaning "protected" or "protection" cards in Arabic, these cards are given to any who so requests them to remind the general public that Jews, Christians, Sunnis, Shiites, non-denominational Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and Sikhs are legally protected so long as they pay their taxes and respect other religious groups, particularly those that form the majority of the population. This practice has spread to other religiously diverse areas, including much of the Desi Union and L'Ouest; all countries are supposed to recognize each other's Dhimmi Cards, which are available in several languages (the abundance of written text after the catastrophe means that literacy didn't take much of a hit at all.

Trying to give you an idea of what small towns look like in this world via Cities: Skylines. Minimal car traffic, fairly primitive road infrastructure, and overwhelmingly vernacular or even medieval architecture.

HM the King of the United Kingdom has one heck of a title now that the kingdom has fully federalized (most counties are nearly independent and most of the Scottish Lowlands joined England and Wales because Scotland had a series of shite PMs). The good news is that they have most of Ireland as part of the kingdom, albeit with the monarch demoted to "Minister for Protestant and Other Minorities" (and "Lord Protector" of the Isle of Man.
