Henry VII and his second marriage

What if Elizabeth had died in giving birth to Arthur?

One book im reading about Henry and his family says that in the case of her dying his mother had already considered pushing for a marriage to Elizabeths sister - Cecily.

Now what if this happened?
How would this change history as we know it - any major changes or not?

would Henry have gone for something like that? after all, Henry VIII had to get a dispensation to marry his brother's wife, surely the same law of consanginuity(sp) would apply.

butterflies save Arthur's life, or the Arthur Curse rolls on and kills him anyway.

If Henry VII doesn't remarry and Arthur dies, the War of Roses starts right back up again

Not necessarily. A ban on marrying your brother's wife does need not preclude the marrying of your wife's sister. Henry VII could even point to Old Testament examples that permit it.

if we are to go with worst case of both Henry VII and Arthur dying without kids, then the House of York will declare Margaret Pole, 8th Countess of Salisbury Queen.

Wasn't it the Old Testament which specifically said to marry your brother's widow?

but meh, I don't see it being a problem even if it was somehow officially banned. It wasn't a big deal and the pope would be keen to see the end of civil war in England.
