Hendrix Lives and Clapton Dies

Exactly what it says on the tin. For whatever reason, Jimmy Hendrix doesn't die in 1970. Instead, two years later, in 1972, Eric Clapton dies, becoming yet another musician who died at the young age of 27. Perhaps it'd make more sense for the switch to happen in 1970, but I felt it was appropriate to let Clapton have the same lifespan ITTL that Hendrix had in ours.

How might Hendrix's career develop in the years since 1970, and how does survival affect Hendrix's popular legacy? Conversely how does death affect how Clapton's reputation, and what is the larger impact of Clapton's demise here? Maybe Robert Johnson is less well known? How would the lack of Clapton's cover of "I shot the Sheriff" affect Bob Marley's career, either positively or negatively?
