Help with CSA/USA information

Now maybe this goes into pre1900 if so I apologize. But this is mostly about WWII. Lets say that the orginal CSA was able to seperate peacefully and the US and CS are allies in WWII. Now lets not talk about the odds of this happening just what would be if the countries were like the map below. What would the CSA's main areas of industry be. And would they use the same equipment as the US or would they have their own gun companies in the south.

It's a completely fatuous question; the POD is too early to consider anything like OTL's WWII. I know you said not to mention the odds of this happening, but there's simply no getting round it. It's like saying "if humankind never evolved, would George Bush still have won in 2000?" - it's a completely meaningless question.

Also, why is Montgomery the CS capital - Richmond was chosen as soon as Virginia joined the Confederacy because of its industrial importance. Montgomery was a temporary capital.

Going by the map, the most likely area to industrialize is likely to be in the Mississippi Valley , however with OTL Confederacy the main areas are still in the Union in your scenario.

Intresting as is, I have serious doubts about THIS Confederacy, we are more likely to see an independent Republic of Texas, with Arkansas, Oklahoma and Arizona territory remaining in the Union, and Baja California and Sonora remaining with Mexico.

The deep south suriviving on its own would most certainly be interesting, I suppose the POD could be the south decides not to fire on Ft Sumpter and plays the waiting game, building up its defenses, and hoping that political opinion in the northern states will remain as "Depart Our Wayward Sisters" rathern than "Union Forever"

With a peaceful secession, 1940s war technology may be lagged way back to pre-WWI technology. It'd be a miracle if there were revolving turrets on ships by 1890 IMO.

The South would be a major supplier of clothing and oil while the North would be a major supplier of any machinery. It may be easy to analogize the economic relationship between the North and the South to Great Britain and the 13 colonies in the early 1700s. The South supplies raw materials while the North manufactures them.
In this TL, they would most likely be eachother's greatest trade partner.

Yeah thats what I was thinking which is why montgomery is the capital

if Ft Sumter doesnt happen, shouldn't Arkansas still be in the Union as well? and would the Indian Territory (Oklahoma) be allowed to join the CSA ? the different tribes had different allegiances.
