Hey there, what i would like to know is if any one can set me straight regarding Italy's entrance into the already "Dual" (soon to be, "Triple") Alliance system of Imperial Germany and Austria-Hungary. When did this happen (dates)? What brought this about? And would it be safe to assume (regardless of hindsight) that Germany was much more partial to Austria-Hungary? Thanks!

PS: feel free to tell me anything i should know about his event
Regarding Italy motivation, well at the time (1882), relatioship with France was terrible (an ongoing commerical war who basically ruined Italy, just the year before France snatched Tunisia under the nose of Italy) and frankly Italy was diplomatically isolated in Europe, so for protection and for break this isolation she joined the Triple. Thinks stayed civil and quiet till relationships with the other powers bettered and with A-H worsened.
Regardin Germany favoritism towards A-H, well there wern't that much, first Germany tried actively to make the alliance work, so play a favorite (expecially when the other two had a strained relationships) make the work more and more difficult, secondly at the time Germany was not so real close to A-H
