I actually thought it wasn't bad.
The Mao quote wasn't a "destroy the decadent capitalists" quote; it was a bit of wry humor from a 20th century figure, definitely within McCain's character to quote.
The article isn't unadulterated bashing by any means. It has McC moderate many of his more hardline campaign stances. It's a bit unfair to Palin, who, despite being a bit of an imbecile (IMO) is certainly not base enough to deliberately and happily tabloidize herself and her family while serving as Vice President.
Most telling things to me are the comments at the bottom of the page. Those people clearly don't see the benefit of alternate history.
