The most interesting POD I've heard recently has to do with a combination, of sorts, of the Kamehameha and Kalakaua dynastic lines.
Leleiohoku II, the younger brother of Kalakaua and Liliuokalani, was hanai (adopted) at birth by Princess Ruth Ke'elikolani, a high chieftess descended from Kamehameha. If Leleiohoku had lived beyond 1877 and even beyond 1883, when Ruth died and beyond 1884 when Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop died, he would have inherited all of the lands that formed the Bishop Estate and would have been one of the largest property owners in Hawaii, approximately 9%.
Now, if Leleiohoku outlives his brother in 1891 to become king or dies before that huge landed estate would at least generate a good income that could support the Crown itself, not including those lands that were considered Crown Lands on their own.
