Hatian Revolution Fails, holding it is problematic would it be sold w/ Louisiana?

In my timeline, this kind of happens.

Napoleon never takes over as singular Consul and then Emperor. Louverture remains alive and in power and the US purchases it alongside Louisiana.

There are many complicated reasons as to why they purchase it, but to summarize, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington became the heads of two competing but not openly hostile US governments and Jefferson purchased Louisiana and Saint-Domingue as part of a larger expansionist strategy (sort of just to oppose Washington) and Louverture remains in charge of Saint-Domingue because he's done a pretty good job of keeping the piece so far. There is also a violent independence revolt lead by Dessalines which does a lot of damage to part of the countryside, delegitimizing independence.

I think it works and has a logic to it, but it is arguably not a failed revolution as far as ideals go. Even though independence is never achieved, it inspires non-white revolutions throughout the rest of history.
