Hello all

Need a little help with Mideast history, which is not one of my strong points I'm afraid!

Now in OTL the Hashemites attempted but failed to rule Arabia and Syria, and were thus compensated
with Jordan and Iraq!

Now my question: If they were able to successfully take control of Arabia (Saud's suffer an early tragedy/fall or something) but they still fail to keep Syria, what would become of Jordan?

I'm fairly convinced Iraq would still be made a Hashemite kingdom, even if they already had all of Arabia, as the British likely would've wanted someone else saddled with the hassle of managing such a diverse and potentially unstable country.

However what would become of Jordan? Continued British mandate resulting in some other monarchy (such as Egypt) or an Arab republic ala Syria and Lebanon? Absorbed by Syria? Absorbed by a Hashemite Arabia?

As i've said I can see Syria and Iraq going largely the same route with some changes here and their (Iraq possibly remains a monarchy, or at least is one for longer), however what happens to Jordan?

Would really appreciate any feedback!

Supplemental:
Or does the entire Levant get swallowed by a more powerful Hashemite dynasty, resulting in a united Arab state? I know that was more-or-less the plan of the Hashemites and Pan-Arabists but I'm not entirely convinced it would've happened due to the European powers stepping in!
