Hartford Convention PoD?

In real life, the Hartford Convention was one of those historical moments that everyone wants to forget about. In December 1814, New England Federalists held a convention about the war of 1812 (a misnomer as it was still going on in 1814), both about fighting the British directly and about somehow reforming the government of the US. However, the convention is mostly known for the discussion inside of it about potentially seceding from the US. In real life, the idea of secession was viewed as too radical by most of the delegates, and the news of Andrew Jackson's victory and New Orleans ended any thoughts of it. In this timeline, however...you can probably guess what I'm trying to do already.

While just making the delegates accept secession with no other changes to the timeline is unrealistic, one could make their decision change by adding in an earlier point of divergence and making the British do better in the war, for example winning the Battle of Baltimore. I think this is one of the more realistic "divided states of america" points of divergence.

So, how likely would this be and what would be the potential effects?

(I'm actually thinking about making this into a more formal writing piece/timeline, but I've just joined the forums and I want to get used to everything first.)

More information and backstory.

I believe Jared's Decades of Darkness is based on this PoD, although i could be wrong, since been many years since i read it. A great story (and a big story, too, heh), by the way.
