Or Turkish food is Greek food without it. The Ottoman Empire was big on fusion cuisine before it was even a thing.
On topic, I remember to have eaten generally well last times I went to Britain. But it was very often in Indian restaurants: I have to note that, at least in relatively cosmopolitan places like Oxford and Edimburgh, finding a place that serves "British" cuisine is not straightforward. What I had, especially in Scotland, was fine.
