Hard-to-find maps of Ancient Provinces, Satrapies, Campaigns, etc.

For many ancient empires or medieval kingdoms, it is very hard to find accurate maps of subdivisions, provinces, vassal states, and maps of more obscure military campaigns.

Have you found a map of the obscure junds of the Abbasid Caliphate? Of the feudal domains of Anglo-Saxon England before the Norman Conquest? Or are you requesting a specific topic, unable to find a map to visualize it? This thread is for exactly those kinds of maps.

Note: Historical/OTL maps only. They do not need to be editable. I didn't place this in Alternate History Maps and Graphics because this thread is focused on the historical context more so than the map itself.

Here are some maps that I found useful.

Provinces/Satrapies of the Achaemenid Empire during the rule of Darius I, including the more obscure peripheries. I believe some of the satrapies are conjectural and assumed based on the Hellenistic era divisions, but nonetheless, this gives a pretty good idea of the various regions of the Persian Empire.

Improved map of the Achaemenid Empire in 490 BC, suggested by Practical Lobster:

Vassal earldoms of the King of England in 1065, courtesy of the University of South Florida. The map really makes it clear that Harold Godwinson and his brothers controlled the vast majority of southern England, as well as why the earls Edwin and Morcar were such a thorn in the side of Harold and, later, William.

Junds (Military Provinces) of the Abbasid Caliphate in the Levant during the 9th century. Does anyone know of a larger map that includes all of the provincial divisions throughout the Abbasid empire?

Here are a couple of maps on Ethiopia and the Horn in 1300 and 1420. The former kingdoms would be incorporated as vassals to the Ethiopian empire or the Somali Sultanates. They remain the most detailed maps of the region I have found for the time period.

Awesome, that's exactly the type of map I was thinking of. It really illustrates how quickly the Solomonid dynasty rose in Ethiopia.

Is there something specific you want?

Here's a better map of the Achaemenid Empire, without those straight line borders:

Well, the thread isn't for a specific topic other than Pre-1900. It's for obscure but detailed maps in general, especially topics where knowing provinces and vassals is sorely needed, like feudal kingdoms in Europe or East Africa.

Here is a map of the feudal vassals of the King Robert II of France in 1030, illustrating how small and fractured the royal demesne was compared to the holdings of vassals. This was nearly the low point of the royal demesne, which would actually reach its smallest size under the rule of Henry I.

Indeed, and the reversals are just as impressive. Here is the Adal Sultanate at its height under
Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Ghazi, who reached as far as Aksum. Also notable is the growth of the Funj Sultanate of Sennar and the Oromo. Both have pushed northward, the former in the early 1500s and the latter just hitting their stride.
