Hannibal Victorious. How different a Europe do we get? An AHC and a Question.

I think it is safe to assume that a POD as early as the Punic wars would render world unrecognizable from any modern perspective. It is probably even impossible to try and describe the modern world when you have a POD that far back. But it can also be really fun, as you are basically allowed to do anything. Even if it is just for the sake of cool.

The challenge (and the question) the is for you to describe (in a map or national info) what Europe would look like today (or in a time significantly past the POD) in the case of a Carthaginian victory during the Punic Wars. I think it is an interesting early POD as it can allow you to:
a) flip the role of Europe and North Africa.
b) create a new European-based empire/state to replace Rome (it can survive to present day or not).
c) butterfly away Christianity and Islam and maybe replacing them with new religions with their own issues, rivalries, and ways of spreading.
d) with a POD before the Migration Period you can mess up Europe's linguistic makeup as much as you wish.

Simplified
IIRC following the battle Carnea:confused:, Hannibal Waited some 2 weeks as he Buried the Dead. He expected the Romans to send a delegation to seek terms.
In stead the Romans retreated, regrouped, and raised another Army that went on to defeat Hannibal.

POD
After two days Hannibal leaves a few companies to take care of the Dead and sets off in pursuit of the remains of the Roman Army.
Several months later Hannibal is setting outside the Walls of Rome, having Defeated several attempts by the Roman remains to stop him.

6 months later Rome is forced to surrender as food supplies run out.
Hannibal puts the Romans to work tearing down the walls, after which he burns the city.

50 years later -- 3rd Punic War
Carthage defeats the Latino League, Border in Italy set north of Naples at old Greek limit.

Latino League sets sights Northward, conquers Gaul, Brittani, Frisia, Balkans, Greece, AEgypt.

150 Years later
""Caesar"" & ""Pompey"" Defeat Carthage in 4th Punic War.

After Cannae, if Hannibal managed to convince almost all the Greek cities of South Italy to give him full support and above all soldiers and he refused to rest in Capua, with his ranks refilled with Greek soldiers could lay siege on Rome.

Also Hasdrubal must resist in Spain, while the Italian Celtics must took both Piacenza and Cremona, the Roman strongholds in North Italy, in Greece Perseus must defeat the Aetolian league and in Numidia Syphax must defeat Massinissa.

If Rome surrended, here is my proposal for peace.

- Rome must evacuated all South Italy, Sicily, Sardinia and Corsica, and the city of Apollonia in Epirus; the three islands returned in direct Carthaginian control, while Apollonia went to Perseus.
- Macedonia now controlled the territories of Aetolian league outside Aetolia.
- Syphax is now the legitime ruler of Numidia.
- The Roman fleet must be disbanded.
- The Romans must pay war reparation to Carthage, and the Aetolians to Perseus.
- The cities and peoples of Magna Graecia now enter in the Carthaginian symmachia.

All Hannibal really needs is one single city in Latium proper to spend the winter in to maintain the siege of Rome. All the rest is gravy.

But that first is an understandably tall order.
