Handsome Senator weds glamourous actress

WI Senator Kennedy had married Marylin Monroe (instead of him marrying Jackie and she the baseball guy)

Would it have been a boost for his campaign?

Would she have tolerated his outside activities as well as Jaquie did in OTL?

Could she have carried on acting?

Two words: Family Veto. JFK-Marilyn would never happen, a) because she's not Catholic b) because she's Marilyn Monroe. The answers to the other questions are no, she wouldn't continue acting, and yes, she'd tolerate it. Kennedy wanted to be President, and he would never become POTUS by marrying Monroe. Also they weren't acquainted until the later 1950s.

It wasn't until the 1970's that the social climate in the US had changed enough to allow prominent politicians to marry prominent actors or actresses. I'm thinking of John Warner and Elizabeth Taylor, and I'm still not sure to this day exactly how that happened.

ISTR that British actress Valerie Hobson was married to John Profumo, of the scandal of that name, so the UK was a bit ahead in that respect.

You know, I can't remember if I did this in the AHN Universe.

If JFK didn't have Presidential ambitions, it would be very likely that he'd be a lifelong bachelor with a permanent harem. But JFK not running for POTUS is impossible with the '53 POD you've given. As I'm sure you know, Jackie was engaged to someone else shortly before she met Jack...
