Had a few ideas.

Hello "Alternate history forum." I was doing some random research and landed upon this subject. So, I was thinking of some more, out of the box. I'll make some maps for them as well.

So, here's what I was thinking. Don't know how many times they've been used.

-In America, the "Five Civilized Indian Tribes" weren't forced of their land, and survived to create independent states.

-The Mongols convert to Christianity, spreading out across Asia.

-Alexander the Great lives into his eighties, and he spreads greek culture all across Africa, Asia, and so on.

-Rome is crushed by the Etruscans, and they become the dominant force in the ancient world. Big war between them and the greeks.

These would all result in maps dating to around 1850 OTL.

Opinions?

Interesting idea, but you'd need a miraculously more passive U.S. government, not to mention a degree of cooperation and understanding between landholders and native Americans which simply wasn't there.

There's endless discussion on here regarding the Mongols converting to "--- faith". Problem is, their attitude towards religion was a lot less formal than that of their counterparts in Europe and the Middle East. Some were shamanists, some where Muslim, some were Buddhist, but the only unifying cause they really had was conquest and pillage, on as frequent and rapid a basis as possible. The Khans, brutal as they may have been, at least had the foresight to keep dogma and empire-building separate, provided subjugated populations paid their dues.
-Alexander the Great lives into his eighties, and he spreads greek culture all across Africa, Asia, and so on.
His dominion, like that of the Mongols, was the product of whimsy, political callousness and a little good luck - in short, it's inevitably going to crumble away after he dies.
-Rome is crushed by the Etruscans, and they become the dominant force in the ancient world. Big war between them and the greeks.
Can't comment here.

Alright.

There could have possibly been one Native state, most likely than not Cherokee, or Seminoles who controlled the tip of florida.

Wasn't aware of the Mongol conversion discusstion. I'll come up with some more.

Hey, an Alexander TL wouldn't be bad, it's just that the geopolitical scene a few centuries later isn't going to look particularly different.

TBH I think there would be little difference in the world had this happened. Despite what Livy says (who is only slightly biased), the Romans owe nearly everything they have to the Etruscans. That part of their culture that isn't Etruscan is Greek... so any big war between the Etruscans and Greeks would only slightly increase Greek influence in the Italian peninsular or go the way it historically did (but insert "Etruscan" whereever you see "Roman" in todays history books).

For a TL where Rome is wiped out and the Etruscans do better, see
