Guy of Lusignan and Saladin

King Guy's disastrous defeat at Hattin is well known. This was caused mainly by his inept strategy of attempting to march the army through a waterless desert under very bad conditions. WI: He had assembled the army, then waited for Saladin outside Acre? Could he have defeated Saladin? Would Saladin in his pride and impatience marched his army across the desert and loss his initial advantage?

Not sure about the rest, but on this i say no. Saladin doesn't strike me a rash leader. I'm sure he would come up with another strategy.
