Gustaf II Adolf Has a Son

Oxenstierna also was stalling when it came to Christina's marriage. A prime example was with Frederick William. He didn't want another male, a foreigner no less, "taking his thunder." As you probably already know, Oxenstierna was quite prominent in Swedish politics at the time and someone else being more influential on the monarchy wasn't in his plans.

So, how might Oxenstierna go about finding a husband for Kristina if she is only heiress presumptive rather than heiress apparent? Would he still be fearful of the theft of his thunder? Or would he see the value in forging strong links with the German Protestant powers?

I believe the fact that if Gustav II Adolf has a son that survives childhood will definitely change Oxenstierna's views on who gets to marry Christina. However, I believe that those views will be dependent on whether the young king has children or not. If my memory serves me right, Christina would be the younger of the two siblings in this TTL.
