GURPS Tengri plausibility check

The Mongol conquests forcibly join Western and Chinese civilization in a global economy that traded ideas and technology. The Scientific Revolution started at Bokhara in the late 14th Century as Italian, Greek, Arabic, Indian and Chinese scholars all met; in 1588 the World Khanate's technology is about equal to OTL c 1960.
Plausible?

Can Mongols speed up the meeting of "Italian, Greek, Arabic, Indian and Chinese scholars" given the limitations on travel of people, documents and ideas posed by lack of fast methods of travel and communication?

Or am I underestimating 14th century's capacity for exchange of idea over distance?

"Plausible" died messily when the concept of a "World Khanate" was created.

The issue of European and Arabic etc. scholars meeting in one place pales by comparison.

Where are you getting these from? I know about GURPS, but I thought they hadn't done any new sourcebooks in a while?

Other than alien guidance I'm not sure how you plan on getting from working out the kinks of high strength steel production to television in 200 years.

mojojojo:
The backgrounds run from extensive to capsule. I am afraid this one is capsule...I put just about all they had of it.
