That division of Alaska is weird...

Russia controls Mexico, Nicaragua, and Colombia? Nicely done.

POD sometime around 1800.

Yes, the Alaska thing IS weird... and no, the POD was after 1800. And, also no, Russia doesn't control Mexico, Nicaragua and Columbia. I'm one of those map guys who uses only five colors. :D

Hey, you set the precedent with Canada and Belize...

Now lemme guess...54-40 or fight!!! The British, pissed off at losing the Oregon Country, decided to 'acquire' El Salvador, and buy Brazil from the Bragancas.

Actually, yes, on the 54-40 or Fight! part! We fought and got what we wanted! Then we took a chunk more.

Mexican-American War- We take a bit more of Mexico and it snowballs somehow.

From what I remember, in the real world the Mexicans offered to sell us quite a bit more land than what we wound up with from the Mexican-American War, but we turned it down due to slavery issues. In this timeline, someone figured out how to get around the slavery issue, and our souther border ended up a lot more south!

...

You know, stupid me, I didn't even notice West Virginia... ARGH!

Well, perhaps even though the Mexican-American War ended with the USA having more territory, maybe they still had a Civil War. If you have that, I'm thinking Diet Virginia (same great taste, 60% less land!), would've still split away from Classic Virginia.

I doubt the borders in Canada would be as you have them. Furthermore, what is with Utah?

Eh, if there'd been more squabling over the border between BC and WA, there's a chance they could've ended up like that.
<p>
And I figure with Utah there's a Mormon part and a "gentile" part. Call one part Utah and the other Deseret. Which is which? YOU decide! :eek:
