Ground Zero really a GZ

a very US ethnocentric view there

as to why the rest of NATO doesn't immediately jump to the US beck and call over the wars it chooses to fight , cough *NORAID* cough - not only did the tacit support for some IRA activity by parts of the US population effect the UK ( and none NATO Eire) it also raised the threat levels in Germany and bordering NATO states ( and a slight rise in Spain because of Gibraltar) as UK military personnel and their dependents were IRA targets regardless of where they were.
NATO didn't invade Libya in 1986- despite a NATO nation's base being attacked- on another NATO nation's soil!

I could see the US reaching out to India easily. And Bush knew the Pakistanis were trying to proliferate nukes- and he cut off the investigation. (Source: Greg Palast, BBC Newsnight.)

It's more likely al-Quaida would get a 10 KT bomb. I was recently watching a video of an old History Channel special in which they estimated what would go on if a terrorist blew up a nuke outside the Capitol at 9 AM on a typical day. No matter how tough some buildings are, a LOT would have been destroyed.

You don't, a couple will likely get through. But, realize after 911 the Indian government actually was supportive of a joint U.S./Indian war against Pakistan knowing a few nukes would likely get through.

Bush declined and instead decided to try to defuse the conflict that was building again between the two countries.

I don't see anythink in the linked article saying that after 9/11 Indian government appealed for joint U.S./Indian war against Pakistan.
