I've been working from this thread, the map thread, and the facts thread, and I'd like to ask for some help in fleshing out this timeline.

Essentially my POD is 1866-1871, wherein Prussia manages to unite the various German states into Germany, as well as Austria, Bohemia, Moravia, and Slovenia. The Duchy of Teschen is united into Silesia, a Prussian Province.

Between 1871 and 1914, Germany grows closer to the UK, limiting its Naval size, and encouraging pro-British sentiment amongst its people. Wilhelm II is not a breech birth, and Friedrich I does not have cancer, enabling him to enact his reforms. France allies itself with Russia, the Ottoman Empire, and one or two more countries.

World War I still occurs, but the Germans, Italians, Hungarians, and British form the Central Powers against the French Entente. The war ends after the US enters belatedly when French vessels fire on an American civilian ship. President Teddy Roosevelt brings the US into war.

The Treaty of Versailles hits the French hard, losing all their colonies to Germany and Britain, and being forced to pay reparations and giving up all claim to Alsace-Lorraine. Greece regains Constantinople in a separate war with Turkey shortly thereafter in the Treaty of Breslau (OTL Lausanne).

Between the end of WWI in 1918 and 1938, France fell further into National Socialism, utilizing Polish and Turkish revanchist sentiment, stoking the flames of militarism in the three lands. Germany, France, and the UK held their Chinese spheres of influence as semi-colonies, bringing numbers of settlers to administer their Chinese lands. After France left via WWI, the UK and Germany took French territory in China under their wing.

World War II breaks out in 1938, as France takes Alsace-Lorraine, claiming that is all they want. Chamberlain returns from Paris claiming 'Peace in our Time.' American President Teddy Roosevelt Jr. doesn't trust the French, but ignores the Pacific Fleet, while focusing on Europe. He allows Americans to travel to Europe to aid the British.

The fighting escalates and the US joins the war after Pearl Harbor is attacked on 12-7-41. Germany is ailing, with France taking the Rhineland, Belgium, Baden, Würrtemberg, and advancing further. France is attacking England and Ireland as well; Poland and Turkey are making successes as well, but 1943 begins the turn back, as the Americans come in full force. By 1945, the war is forced back to Paris, Warsaw, and Ankara. The Allies find France, Poland, and Turkey attempted genocide against European Jews.

The outcome of WW2 breaks France into 4 occupation zones for the Americans, Italians, Germans, and British. Germany takes all of Alsace, Lorraine, and Belfort from France as permanent territory. Poland cedes territory to form South Prussia and New East Prussia as border states. Nice, Savoy, and Corsica are permanently granted to Italy as is Dalmatia, and a portion of Tunisia around the ancient Carthage. Greece claims a larger portion of Anatolia, and the Middle East is redrawn. An Israeli state is created, as is a Palestinian Arab state, a Kurdish state, Mesopotamia, Syria, and Turkey. Population transfers are made between Greece-Turkey, Kurdistan-Turkey, Israel-Jordan, Poland-Germany, and France-Germany. Germans in the Volga SSR are a protected class guaranteed by German-Soviet assistance during the war.

For twenty years, Europe grows calm, though Poland fell to the Russians in 1949. China becomes a hotspot with Chinese communists attempting to overtake the spheres of influence. The UK and Germany unite their territories into South China, headed at Hong Kong. They beat back the Chinese communists, who take North China as a communist state. In 1951-53, they attempt to take Korea, but a force of Germans, Americans, and British successfully repel them, keeping Korea a united country.

In 1963, communist agitators attempted to overthrow German government, taking Mecklenburg, Silesia, Brandenburg, and the Prussian states (East, West, South, and New East), forming the Prussian SSR. This state lasts five (10?) years before being restored to Germany; part of the treaty indicates that the Volga Germans will be granted the entirety of the province they occupy, protected by UK, US, and German bases.

By 2008, the Soviet Union has fallen, Volgaland is the most advanced former Soviet Territory, Germany is a world power along with the UK and the US.

Is there anyone who can help me in guiding this timeline along, essentially to maintain German-British relations from the 19th to 20th century, and to keep the creation of a Jewish homeland? Essentially it is a switch of France and Germany in the place of history, but I don't know about their racial sentiments that may erupt as it did in our timeline.

Thanks,

James
