Greece instead of Switzerland

The challenge here is to make a country called "Greece" fill the geopolitical role that Switzerland does IOTL, i.e. being neutral. ITTL, the request "Name a neutral country" should be trivially answerable with "Greece", at least in the popular imagination.

after Greece goes financially belly up in early 2011 .. Switzerland swoops in and purchases up the ancient assets of Greece and moves them to bern. Later in the year the swiss purchase the name Greece and sells off the land to Turkey ... On Dec 30 2011 Switzerland in a marketing gimmick changes its name to Greece.

To the OP Switzerland's neutrality come about because it was surrounded by great and regional powers (France, Austria, Bavaria, Prussia, and the other German States, Piedmont and the other Italian states), and it could have potentially been used by any of them as a mountain pass into their heartlands. Swiss neutrality was only created by the Congress System after the Napoleonic Wars, and even then wasn't guaranteed until the 1848 Revolutions.

To get the same thing in Greece you'd have to first a) get there to be multiple powers surrounding it, willing to invade and occupy Greece solely for its use as a passage way to a larger opponent, and then b) have a great war in the Balkans and Eastern Mediterranean region which ultimately sees Greek neutrality declared as part of the system put in place after.

Its doable, I'm thinking of something vaguely involving a surviving Murat Naples, and more successes for Karađorđe Petrović & Muhammad Ali, but it would be quite difficult, and I'm not sure any single POD could achieve it.
