Greece in the Central Powers

IIRC Greek and German royal families were relatives. That's why Greece stayed neutral for so long. On the other hand the PM Eleftheiros Venezeilos was very pro-Entente and wanted to join the Entente as early as 1914. IOTL the prime minister won over and the king went into exile. Popular opinion was to stay neutral though. If the king was really stubborn he could have fired Venezeilos and declared war on the Entente. Greece would soon end up in a civil war where the British and French would support republicans and the Central powers would support the Royalists.

It would take the Ottomans or Bulgaria in the Entente; though even those wouldn't necessarily be enough. The Germanophile King's hand was quite weak compared to the popular and democratically elected pro-Entente prime minister - even before the King in question let the Central Powers tear chunks out of Greece.
