Greece falls to communism

it would have impacted european and mediterranean geopolitcs. Soviets would likely have access to the mediterranean, especially if turkey fell too. turkey falling may have been slightly more likely if greece had fallen first, but it also could have rallied more international support in order to counterbalance red greece in the aegean. albania may have thought twice about siding with china during the sino-soviet split if a red greece had become part of the warsaw pact. Soviet influence and projection from bases in greece may have played a greater role in the arab world than OTL. Italy may have been considered more of a "frontline" NATO member militarily than it was in OTL. A red greece near its heel chock full of soviet forces might've altered the NATO strategic orientation there, not to mention the rest of the eastern mediterranean theater. anyway, that's all I can think of. oh, and maybe gyros are looked upon with suspicion:D during a 2nd red scare that last longer than OTL ("who lost greece?")

Stalin didn't give the Reds in Greece much support...however if they do win regardless some tough choices will have to be made. It will certainly create a lot more tension than even OTL between the Soviet and the US camps.

Cyprus is treated as the non-communist Greece. All you'll get in the end is possibly a larger Greece than OTL.
Possibly, I think we'd also see Crete and (maybe) the Agean islands (Especially Rhodes) in this Captilist Greece. The aftermath of the cold war is then up in the air I think. If this confederation of Islands becomes much more industrilised and weathly than the mainland counterpart, who says they'll want to re-unite with what would be a giant economic brick?
