We here like to talk about alternate elections. Some boring, some normal, some cool. Some just down in the mud name calling dirty.

What was the greatest (dirtiest) election that never occurred?

-Nixon vs LBJ 1968
-Long vs FDR 1936,1940
-Ted Kennedy vs Reagan 1980
-Bill Clinton vs Dubya 2000

For Canada Mulroney vs Trudeau 1979 would've been cool.

Reagan vs Kennedy 1980. The starkest contrast.

Cheney 96?

A Bush sr vs Rumsfeld primary(maybe Reagan picks Rummy and makes Bush SoS) They hated each other.

Gingrich vs Clinton general election would've been nice to watch.

Bush vs Gore 04.

Grant vs. Hancock, 1880

Given how ridiculously close it was for the Republicans in OTL's version it'd be interesting to see how Grant's character would influence the whole thing.

I do recall writing a piece of a collaborative timeline where an Exiled Lenin and Churchill frequently crossed swords in the letter section of The Times.

Wallace stays out in 1968 and gets the Democratic nomination in 1972, then goes against Nixon.

FDR doesn't contract polio and runs against TR III for New York governor in 1924. That would bring bad blood...
