Greater Netherlands under Axis Occupation

Hitler's plan for the Netherlands and Flanders was eventual annexation into the Greater Reich as they similar enough for him to believe they were Germans. It's quite strange then that Belgium was kept whole throughout the war rather than divided into Wallonia and Flanders.

What if as a way of improving the collaboration and make the Dutch people more culpable and so allied the Nazis decided to annex Flanders into the Netherlands and break off Wallonia, kept as part of military occupied France?

For a POD let's imagine that someone suggests this to Hitler and he goes for it. Say he views it as punishment to the Belgium for the Congo's abandonment or something.

How does this impact the war and the development of the region?

Post-war will Flanders, having enjoyed being part of a Dutch government for 4-5 years be ok with returning to Wallonia or will Belgium just be left divided and replaced with the Benelux custom union?

The German division did crudely encompass both Flanders and Wallonia, French and Belgian but the French are not going to let French Wallonia go whatever happens.

In an extreme take - next will be Catalunya del Nord, Breizh and Euskal Herria. Soon France will be just the Ile de Paris. Where will we go for our summer holidays and skiing? That is what the rest of France is for isn't it?

Yes, since they did not enjoy those 4-5 years. The collaborist Nazi scum Dutch that caused and maintained that division under German occupation are executed now and everything can go back to normal, no more of that ultra-nationalist crap. Belgium is a sovereign nation and its territories will be returned.

I don't think the Dutch care enough about Flanders to want to annex it, so the Germans don't get any more sympathy. It will probably taint Flemish-Dutch unification as a Nazi thing making it (even) more unlikely to happen at somepoint in the future. I think it would mean that for the Flemish movement unification is completely out of the question to avoid anyone comparing them towards the nazi's and it would focus more on independence than unification with the Netherlands. Since that is basicly the current situation (the Dutch don't care about Flanders, while the Flemish nationalists want independence, notunification with the Netherlands) probably not much changes.
