"Great Dictators": There have to be some what-ifs here....

I guess for post-1900 they would be "what if FDR and Churchill really were dictators?" (For pre-1900 of course one could ask the same question for Washington and Lincoln, among others...) Also, "what if FDR looked that much like Assad?"...

Also, Churchill, Roosevelt, Washington and Bismarck weren’t dictators. I don’t even know why “Johan of Arc” is on there - she wasn’t even a ruler.

Nasser was elected, wasn't he?

Also I think that they got something wrong with the word "dictators", maybe they should have used "Leaders".

Look at the title: "There have to be some what ifs here." I am pretty sure he is saying we could imagine different people in history being dictators.

Well, OK, let's pretend...say, Stalin became a dictator. Obviously, he would be kind and generous, a caring leader who always put the safety and security of his people before all else, a steward of the planet, a champion of good. Loved by all! I was going to suggest Hitler, but, I just cannot imagine him abandoning the very, very successful religious iconography business he built from scratch, even though he did throw in with Mother Teresa for the last few yeas of his life. Any other ideas out there, Idi Amin, perhaps?

The idea could have been to add some people who were not dictators, to a list of people who we know were.

I'm not his spokesman. But that's the only way it makes sense to me.

What language is this supposed to be in? Garibaldy? Hentry? Charlesmagne?

i assume dictator means military leader in that context.

Fantastic guy, built his country from scratch, helped cultivate the respect of all his countrymen, and a lifelong proponent of pacifism at home and abroad. His charitable efforts are legendary throughout Africa and have reached as far as Scotland where some locals even want him as the King of Scotland.

Understand he was quite the gourmand as well...
