Great Britain and Australia conquered by Axis before US mobilizes

How would World War 2 play out if Great Britain was conquered by Nazi Germany in 1940 and Japan conquers Australia after beating or forcing a draw with the US Navy at the Battle of Coral Sea and Midway? Would you want to see Japan take over Hawaii in this alternative timeline?

Would the war last long enough to see nuclear bombs dropped on Germany? How would these successes effect the Eastern front? Would you see a Japan divided by the USA and the USSR in this TL?

You're in the wrong forum. Have an admin direct you to ASB. JK. Did the Luftwaffe still get decimated over Britain?

If the UK was defeated in 1940 (majorly improbable event), why would there be a Pacific war at all? The remnant Allies wouldn’t be able to agree to embargo the Japanese even if the US tried to. Even if the US and Japan went to war, why would the Australians join? You have killed too many butterflies trying to keep a sequence of events the same when the preceding events are radically different.

Yes, ASB. Nonetheless, IF such situation happens..

The WWII would be radically different. Likely no Syria-Lebanon company, Iraqi revolt is not suppressed by British, no Anglo-Soviet invasion to Iran, and .. i am finding difficult to find the idea of operation Barbarossa plausible too, given how heavy would be German losses and garrisons in British even in the case of German victory. And likely no US-Japanese war, because the pro-axis Iran & Iraq making US embargo less relevant even if attempted. In such case, Soviet Union remains an Axis country.
I can see the earlier transition to "cold war" settings, with roughly Eurasia+Australia vs Americas, with most of Africa been disputed similar to OTL.

Both Britain and Australia defended them/ourselves from their/our own resources. US assistance, while welcome, was not crucial in stemming invasion, it was crucial in pushing the Axis back and crushing them.

Maybe the magical armada of flying fire breathing unicorns that the Axis used to conquer the UK and Australia would be used against the US. Which means America is DOOMED!

To keep it "realistic", the British weakening should be provided too. Say British government tried to build Home Guard and massively reinforce Australia in the same time..and got several large convoys badly bloodied while trying to traverse Axis-contested Mediterranean. Resulting in British morale and training quality sinking below sea-level together with the convoys. Tempting both Germany and Axis to become predatory on weakened British and its colonies. Simply reinforcing Axis to the point of victory may require outright magic, but combination of weaker British and stronger Germany may be relatively closer to being plausible.
