This is the first in a series of threads in which i will be asking you cleaver people " what if this individual battle had gone the other way." Some battles will ge popular and yet could be viewed as indecisive, others obscure and yet more important.

So to start it off, a popular British bedtime story of French bashing and over the top speeches: Azincourt ( or Agincourt but i prefer its true spelling.)

Famous and good play? Yes. That decisive? not so much given what happened next.

But suppose the outcome most of Christondome ( and most of the English army assumed) came true and the English *( and Welsh) army was wiped out- along with Henry. What is the result? An earlier end to 100 years war certainly and perhaps an earlier war of the roses ( or maybe not- Henerys brother the duke of Clarence might take over and-being a strong ruler might stamp out all opposition.) And how will Anglo-French diplomacy be effected?

And finally, will the English develop at all? ( i think it would start earlier- defeat in France forces Britain to look abroad?)

Whats your opinion?
