Edina Horvath (born May 13, 1964 in New York City, NY) is an American hard rock- and heavy metal vocalist and songwriter. She is mainly known for her long-time solo project Edina Horvath.
Horvath used to sing in various Hard Rock- and Heavy Metal bands from 1979 to 1983, i.a. Glasskull. In 1984, she started her own band and solo project named after herself. She released two studio albums with Glasskull and 15 studio albums, three live albums, two best of- and translation compilations, one extended play and 18 singles with her solo project. Horvath is often regarded as one of the greatest hard rock- and heavy metal vocalists of all time.
Horvath is daughter of Hungarian emigrants and was raised bilingual (English and Hungarian). In 1995 and 2011, Horvath decided also to re-singing-in the songs of the best ofs into Hungarian and to release these translation compilations inside of Hungary. Also in these years, she gave special Hungarian-speaking concerts in various Hungarian cities. In 2013, 2016 and 2019 Horvath released the whole album-releases of these years in both English and Hungarian (each one a 2CD-release, while the second CD is the Hungarian version).
The style of music, Edina Horvath is following, is comparable with the 80s albums of American band W.A.S.P. and German bands Scorpions and Sinner.
