Graphic Thread

The Shadow of Huey Longs 22 year presidency still looms large over America, even in 1960.
Henry Wallace, Longs Vice President and the one who succeeded him after his tragic death in 1958 has largely failed the Radical Populist Party, his racial progressivism almost causing a party split. His own party primaried him choosing Huey Longs son, Russell B Long, over the failed Vice President.

The Progressive Party, started 20 years ago in 1940 by George Norris and LaFollettes, they had felt that the Radical Populist abandoned any idea of racial harmony, by keeping Huey Long as there 1940 nominee. Starting there own Party to challenge Long, they have nominated Quentin Roosevelt son of Teddy Roosevelt to lead the charge and finally kill the long beast.

The Socialist Labor Party, has been walking like a turtle, slowly crawling forward over the years to now be a good challenger for the Presidency.

The Republican Party has suffered blow after blow through out 20th century, starting back in 1896 with the victory of William Jennings Bryan, and its only been going down hill ever sense. They have nominated two moderates, George Aiken of Vermont, and Republican main stay Thomas Dewey. Will they die long their old rival the Democrats of old, or will the Elephant come in victorious.

The Conservative Party is raging eagle, with almost sixty nonstop years of either moderate or left wing rule, Conservatives are tired of increasingly liberal and moderate Republican Party, and are furious with the leftist economics of the other big three, thus they rally behind Barry Goldwater and Strom Thurmond to lead the charge and to try to gain the Presidency, and end leftist and liberal rule once and for all.

The results are in and its chaos.

I don't know where to post these but here are some more logo's from a TL where the American Soccer League survived and thrived.

First up a re-imagined league logo. It retains the core elements of the original ASL logo but feels a lot more contemporary then even my first redesign of it.

I posted something similar like this for a team from LA, but the original logo was made for a team to represent San Diego. The top of the crest is based on the shape of the San Diego de Alcalá church, and the color scheme is a clear nod to the San Diego Padres.

Last up is a rework of the Saint Louis Raiders, Which was a team that did exist and still does today. It was created for the NASFL, which was the Midwestern division of the ASL in this timeline. I found that I was using the roundel shape a bit to much, so decided to reintegrate the elements from the original logo into a new shape and make it a bit more stylized without going too cartoony.

Some photomanips of Napoleon II as Emperor of the French I had made for a personal project of mine. Not the best but I'm fairly pleased with how some of these turned out.
I think @Basileus_Komnenos would like your work very much for his chronology on Napoleon II. 😉

This is amazing! What did you use to make it @Empereur et Roi? Do you mind if I use these for my Napoelon II Timeline?

Also thanks for bringing this to my attention @Comte de Dordogne!

Here's some of my own artwork as well:

Here's some art I made of Emperor Constantine XI: the Last of the Romans.

Here's some cover art for my timeline: Imperator Francorum. Its a chronology of the rise of the Second French Empire under Napoleon II.

Here's some artwork I made depicting Charles X of France, the last King of France in my timeline.

Absolutely, if anyone wants to use any of my images for their timelines feel free. I actually originally posted them to offer them to another Napoleon II timeline I was following but it seems to have died unfortunately. Don't mind helping add more varied images of L'Aiglon out there. And I just used GIMP to make them.
Speaking of which here's a couple more I've made recently. The Imperial portrait is a little spotty in some areas but I think it came out a lot better than I would have thought. Far better than my previous attempts to use that source image for Napoleon II in the past at least.

Thanks man! I think I can make use of them for later portions of my timelines such as later periods in Napoleon's reign.

I particularly love your Portrait 2 version.

And I just used GIMP to make them.
Is GIMP hard to use? I mostly use Paint.net for my maps, memes, and image graphics for the moment, but I just can't wrap my head around GIMP.

Do you think that any of Napoleon II's portraits would work with things like face app? I was thinking it would be kinda cool for there to be some sort of image of Napoleon II as he ages much like what there was for iconic monarchs like Franz Joseph.

As for coronation robes, do you think it would be more realistic for Napoleon II to appear in something akin to his father's style or something more along the lines of his cousin in otl? I was leaning towards the red Imperial style of Napoleon I because of how cool that looks.

I've been using it for so long now that I find it pretty easy to wrap my head around but there was a pretty steep learning curve at first. I've heard and seen plenty of good things come from people using Paint.net as well so I'd imagine it's mostly a preference thing.

I'd actually played around with that before. I haven't really found any that respond very well to it. It doesn't handle paintings super well especially ones of Napoleon II because the ones we have online are such low resolution.

Considering the fashion trends of European monarchs in the 1800s and that his father was iconic for sticking to relatively simple military uniforms at the time I'd imagine he would stick to something a little less flashy like the marshal style uniform Napoleon III wore irl. No matter what the circumstances of a reigning Napoleon II timeline he would be living very much in his father's shadow and he was keenly aware of it. At the end of the day though he's not his cousin and it's your timeline so anything's possible. Napoleon III didn't even bother with a coronation ceremony.

I don't know if the names of the uniforms makes sense, but yeah.

Junior Party Member/Equalist Youth - Ages 10-14. The Equalist Youth appropriated many of the activities such as including camping and hiking. However, over time it changed in content and intention. For example, many activities closely resembled military training, with weapons training, assault course circuits and basic tactics for the older ones in this rank. The aim was to instill the motivation that would enable its members to fight faithfully for the Equalist Union as soldiers. There was greater emphasis on physical fitness, hardness and military training than on academic study. Loyalty, Determination, and advancement of the Equalist Union (through new ideas) is drilled into the members of this rank.

Senior Party Member - Ages 16-18. Focused on honing in the skills learned after being apart of the Junior Party. This time with real weapons training. Members of this rank are taught how to aim with perfect accuracy, build and repair guns / laser rifles, and how to increase stamina among other such things. Not apart of the military yet, as the Equalist Union has all military members join at age 19 after an induction ceremony. The Equalist Union aims to perfect its future soldiers through rigorous and extensive training in order to create the perfect soldier.

Field Marshal - One of the highest commanding ranks in the ground forces, the Field Marshal rank is reserved for those who have received exceptional recognition for bravery and valor, as well as perfect academic score in their youth without failure. Field Marshals answer directly to the leader of the Equalist Union, who is simply called 'Starlight'.

I figured making a thread for these might be pushing it, but...

Inspired by the mostly retired Vlad Tepes Award....

And the comparatively lesser known Drunk Fleetlord Atvar Award...

I've been working on my own collection of arguably useful (or at least amusing) Alternate History awards for awhile now, whenever I had some free time or the inspiration struck me.

First off, one of the newest, but first to be unveiled recently, when awarded to CaekDemon for his delightful exploration of Gorgossi parasitic disease in "Raiders of the Lost City"...the H.R. Giger's Kitty Award!

Next up, for those honest little "oops," "didn't think this through," "it's not 3 Roentgen..." moments...The Anatoly Dylatov Award for Excellence!

JeoeV5k.png

Followed by a logical, if not automatic, companion, for those of us who like making a few rough calculations...The Professor Groeteschele Award!

Lastly, and in much less sardonic (if not better) taste...for those times where Want of a Nail or One Bad Day have spiraled into some Rough Beast Slouching Towards Bethlehem, The Bouazizi Badge of Achievement!
