Thank you! It's from some background stuff I'm doing for FNBG. I'll be integrating it into some future graphics.
"Universal Dictionary" is an OTL, older term for Encyclopedia which sticks in English and becomes the general term. (To quote wikipedia: "The beginnings of the modern idea of the general-purpose, widely distributed printed encyclopedia precede the 18th century encyclopedists. However, Chambers' Cyclopaedia, or Universal Dictionary of Arts and Sciences (1728), and the Encyclopédie of Denis Diderot and Jean le Rond d'Alembert (1751 onwards), ")
Binary is the TTL term for Digital (for obvious reasons) and anything relating to computing, from that Transbinary (literally "across-computers") refers to networking and in time came to refer to anything online.
Therefore "Transbinary Universal Dictionary" literally just translates to Online Encyclopedia and TraBUD (pronounced trah-bud) was an easy common abbreviation to take up. I honestly didn't realise until after it was all done that Transbinary sounds like an LGBT term from OTL but *shrug* divergences are cool and I quite like it.
Lol, yeah, it does, but the name is very well thought out and the logo is amazing and works well, so I would definitely say that there's no need to change it. If anything it sounding like something completely unrelated from OTL is great, kind of like how a lot of timelines like to have Fascism be a democratic or socialist movement, sometimes not even originating in Italy except this is way more interesting and original/creative.
